Volunteer Opportunities Available
At Helping Hearts Senior Living, our volunteers play an important role in creating a warm, friendly and engaging environment for our residents. We are looking for caring, dependable individuals who enjoy spending time with seniors and would like to make a positive difference in their day.
Volunteers may assist with friendly visits and companionship, recreational activities, games and puzzles, arts and crafts, reading, music programs, gardening, social events, celebrations and group activities.
You don’t need to be a healthcare professional to volunteer. What matters most is patience, kindness, reliability and a genuine interest in spending time with older adults.
Previous experience working with seniors is welcomed but not required. Applicants with First Aid, CPR, dementia-care training, healthcare experience or other relevant certifications are especially encouraged to apply.
Depending on the volunteer position, orientation, references and a criminal record or vulnerable-sector check may be required.

Golden Years Community Volunteers
Volunteer Opportunities Available
Golden Years is looking for friendly and compassionate volunteers to become part of our retirement and assisted-living community.
Our volunteers spend meaningful time with residents and help make everyday life more enjoyable. Opportunities can include one-on-one companionship, reading, playing cards or bingo, music, arts and crafts, gardening, helping with recreational programs, accompanying residents on walks and assisting staff with special events and celebrations.
We’re particularly interested in volunteers who are comfortable working with older adults, good listeners, patient, dependable and respectful of residents’ dignity and independence.
Experience with seniors is an asset but isn’t necessary for many of our volunteer positions. People with backgrounds or certifications in First Aid, CPR, dementia support, recreation, healthcare, music, fitness or other senior-related services are encouraged to let us know about their skills.
Some volunteer positions may require orientation, references and an appropriate background or vulnerable-sector check.

🛳️ Summer Harbour Cruise
Saturday, August 22 • 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Join our residents for a relaxing afternoon cruise featuring beautiful views, lunch, music and plenty of time to socialize.
Advance registration is required. Space is limited and transportation from the residence will be available for registered participants.

Saturday, September 12 • 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Come browse treasures, books, household items, crafts and delicious homemade treats at our annual community sale.
Residents, families and members of the public are welcome.
Volunteers Wanted: We could also use a few extra hands with setup, sales tables, refreshments and cleanup. Volunteers participating in the event are not automatically eligible for admission to separately ticketed activities or excursions.

Join us for an afternoon in the garden featuring a BBQ, live entertainment, games and plenty of opportunities to meet our residents and their families.

🚌 Fall Country Day Trip
Wednesday, September 23 • 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
We’re getting out for the day! Join our residents for a scenic group excursion featuring lunch, sightseeing and an afternoon exploring the countryside.
Limited seating is available. Registration and applicable trip fees are required. Please contact the residence for pricing, transportation arrangements and accessibility information.

We occasionally need volunteers to assist with event setup, greeting guests, games and activities, resident assistance and cleanup.
Volunteering is separate from participation in paid excursions and does not include complimentary admission, transportation, meals or tickets unless specifically stated by the residence.
